There are currently 3 for LED backlight technology available:
• The technique whereby a large number of LED lights (white or colored) behind the LCD screen is mounted, namedFront LED backlight (Also called Full LED). This technique offers the most potential and is the highest in quality, but there are still relatively few TV's on the market with this technology. We do see more and more recently TV's with this technique appear.
• The technique of LED lights on the side of the LCD screen are mounted, named Led Edge. This technique is mostly used to date.

• The technique of LED lights on the sides of the LCD screen are mounted, named Led Edge plus. This technique some LED lights on the side on / off switch to the appropriate signal.

What is the best technique?
There are not really drawbacks to this technology and the price of LED TVs has already gone down considerably. This technique is an improvement in terms of pure TV.
Basically "Front Led " the best quality LED backlight technology. The backlight is very evenly distributed around the screen and by adding more LEDs it will only get better, and relatively little energy consumed.
Yet it is not so that with a wide berth Edge Lit LED TVs to walk around. In general, Edge Lit LED TV's still better quality as the regular CCFL LCD TVs, and more efficient. Moreover, manufacturers are doing everything to great advantage - the sleek look - combining the highest quality.

LED TV offers more than what?
LED (compared with "old" LCD TVs)

• Lower power consumption (up to 50%)
  LED lights use far less energy than standard LCD backlight. Also, the LED lights in dark areas of the image are completely or nearly expelled. It can take up to 50% less energy saving compared to an LCD TV.
• Higher contrast and deeper black levels
  There are a huge number of LED lights behind the screen and can be individually plotted. Also, the reaction to the power or turning on lights so much shorter than normal LCD TV's. This allows certain groups LED lights are completely off. It will be very deep black levels achieved in some parts of the screen when needed. This technique is known as Local Dimming. (This technique has been refined too: by not using white LEDs but one combination of colors, the backlight color even be adjusted on the image)
  The brightness of LED lighting is also higher than that of CCFL lamps and thereby take contrast ratio (ratio between the brightest and darkest images a party) to clear.
• Thinner screens (though LCD TV's already thin)
  The LED technology allows screens to make much thinner than we are accustomed. Sometimes up to several millimeters flat.
• Faster response time (no Wipe effect more rapid in pictures)
  Because LED lights can be switched as soon as the "sweep" effect, which sometimes can be seen on an LCD TV, significantly reduced. LED TV 's are therefore not suitable for fast moving images like sports elements in such competitions.
• Some LED TVs are already Internet-ready.
  This means that on these TV's widgets (small programs) can be downloaded, such as weather, Twitter, Sudoku or additional program information, without your even having to leave your TV programs. This part of the LED TV is still in its infancy, but seems too much for the future. You can simultaneously access the internet and watch your favorite TV program.
• DLNA
  DLNA allows your music, photos and videos using PCs, media centers, PDAs or game consoles to stream TV.

• Brands like Sony, Samsung, LG, Philips and Sharp.

The LED technology offers next to these elements even more. This allows separate color LED lights which display an increased color range they can be. Also, the lifetime of LED not inferior to that of the normal LCD.

Some brands and shops LED TV show as a new kind of TV programs, such as Plasma and LCD, but in principle is an LED TV so far just an LCD TV with LED backlight. Some countries may no longer be advertised by the term "LED TV 'because it is misleading. LED lighting is still costly to manufacture, compared with CCFL lighting, hence the prices of 'LED TV's "well on the high side.
